9th, 10th and PUC classes to commence from August 23rd

The high level meeting regarding COVID management and reopening of schools and colleges, chaired by Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai decided to commence 9th, 10th and PUC classes from 23rd August in the State.

The Chief Minister held a detailed discussion with senior officials of the Government and experts regarding reopening of primary and high schools.

It was decided to commence the 9th, 10th and PU classes from August 23rd and based on the Covid situation in the State decision regarding reopening of primary schools and 8th standard would be taken by the end of August.

‘It is decided to conduct classes on alternative days. Guidelines on Covid norms that needs to be followed during the reopening of schools would be issued’ the Chief Minister told reporters after the meeting.

It is also decided to impose weekend curfew in border districts of Kerala and Maharashtra and instead of 10 pm night curfew it was decided to execute night curfew from 9.00 pm. The Chief Minister instructed the IG& DG to implement the night curfew stringently.
