Opportunities Aplenty for Skilled Workers

Month-long Virtual job fair organized by Karnataka Skill Development Board was launched on Friday, wherein more than 20 companies are participating.

DyCM, Dr.C.N.Ashwatha Narayana, who is also the minister for higher education and skill development, on launching the job fair in Vidhana Soudha, said, there are many opportunities in foreign countries for the skilled manpower, and added, in Japan alone more than 5 lakh jobs are available.

The state government is focusing on increasing the employability of youth and accordingly various programs have been designed to up-skill. Realizing the importance of aligning with the global standards, the government conducted World Youth Skill Day for the first time a few days back. Now, as announced during the celebration of World Youth Skills Day, a month-long virtual job fair has been organized, Narayana explained.

The Skill Development Corporation has been organizing virtual job fairs often since last year in view of the Covid-19 pandemic and more than 8,500 have been benefitted through these fairs,, he informed.

The youth job aspirants are requested to register in www.skillconnect.kaushalkar.com to make use of the opportunities. More than 20 leading companies including Aditya Birla Fashion, Hinduja Global, Wistron, Flipkart are seeking to employ the manpower through this fair.

Dhiman from HGS,  Kalpana BG, AVP- HR, Aditya Birla,  Suresh AVP-HR, Sansera Engineering  Ltd, and others were present.

Karnataka Skill development corporation MD Ashwin Gowda, skill dept deputy Secretary Maruthi Prasanna were present on the occasion.
