Navratri is the time to celebrate the 9 forms of the Mother Goddess in all her glory.Across India this is a mandatory celebration of the victory of Good over Evil.

In our city, as South Indians gear up for the Gombe Habba & Bengalis throng the Durga Puja Pandals, the Gujarati-Rajasthani-Marwari community who have made Bangalore/Karnataka as their base from decades head towards the one & only place for a Dhamakedaar Family Entertainment to Palace Grounds.

The Shri Raghuvanshi Charitable Trust (SRCT) has been organizing the Dandiya & Garba at the Palace grounds from more than a decade.

The Event is back again this year after a two year hiatus because of the pandemic.

We spoke to its organizers Pankaj Kothari & Jignesh Hamlai who are extremely excited & busy in the preparations of this year’s Navratri Utsav 2022, 28th September- 4th October,8PM Onwards at Gayatri Vihar,Palace Grounds,Bengaluru.

Committee member Himanshu Rukhana said the event has lot of Family crowd which enjoys the entire evening for this ticketed event which includes Dinner too. They are expecting more than 10,000+ foot falls in these 7 days extravaganza.

Lot of young crowds who may not have played Dandiya/Garba also love participating & Jignesh says the trend is South Indians too are increasingly adding to the footfalls.

The Vegetarian Dinner Buffet spread is very elaborate & tasty which has been a constant draw.Not to forget the internationally acclaimed Drummers -Chirag & Paresh to whose tunes the crowd to sway all through the evening.

So, this festive season, there will be many Dandiya Nights across Bengaluru & you make sure to attend one for some foot tapping dance & music and be in your best ethnic dress.
