The 19th Edition of Chitra Santhe was inaugurated by CM of Karnataka  S.R.Bommai on Sunday,27th March 2022

This annual event which is  always held on the 1st Sunday of January was postponed to March with the fear of Omicron in Dec’21/Jan’22.

2021 Jan this event was held as an online event where artists from across India displayed their paintings.

But nothing to beat the on ground version where one can interact freely with artists & buy art pieces, negotiations (read bargaining!) are also done, though I don’t think one should with the artists.

This annual event which is organised by the Karnataka Chitrakala Parishath is a visual treat for all the art aficionados.

The entire Kumarakrupa Road from Sivananda Circle till Hotel Windsor Manor is cordoned off for the 1 day event (8AM-8PM).

Its advisable to hire a cab as parking anywhere near the vicinity is prohibited.

With more than 1000+ stalls & artists from across 16 States of India—its ART ACTION & AUCTION post the pandemic phase.

Professor K.S.Appajaiah,General Secretary said they are expecting about 4 Lacs foot falls this time & a significant amount of buying will also take place from art lovers.

This year the theme is FREEDOM FIGHTERS.

From Modern & Traditional paintings to Murals,Fridge Magnets & Art on various media (Sand,Lead,Coffee,Bird Feathers,Stone) explore at this Visual Treat.

Jan 2020 this event had close to 5 Lacs foot falls & all of us unaware what’s coming for each one of us in the months ahead !

Go ahead enjoy the sunny Sunday  Bengaluru at Chitra Santhe as I did & enjoy the photo updates.

Let your guards down, but not the masks !
