In order to give priority to skill learning among students as per National Education Policy (NEP-2020), the Department of Higher Education and IT major Infosys will enter into 3 MoUs soon.
A decision to this effect was taken in a meeting convened with Infosys officials chaired by Dr.C.N.Ashwatha Narayana, the Minister for Higher Education, at Vikasa Soudha on Tuesday.
Minister Narayana told, “These MoU’s will be related to utilizing ‘Infosys Springboard’, that comprises of over 3,000 courses of Skill Development for college students, ‘Campus Connect’ for digital learning of college faculty & Professional Guidance for students and donation of 15,000 Debonded computers to colleges from Infosys.”
‘Infosys Springboard’ is an integrated digital literacy platform comprising effective digital learning solutions, technology-based Life Skill Courses, Gamification, Live Classes, Industry Certification, Makers Lab, Carrer Guidance- Higher Education, he explained.
Introduction of Gesture Computing and Biometrics for smart classrooms, utilizing Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality for training, linking Learning Data with performance outcome, utilizing Gamification and Design principles to create healthy competition among students, utilizing Automation and Robotic Tools to create content will be part of the MoU, he said.
Narayana stated, under this MoU,‘NEP community’ will be established to facilitate the exchange of best practices among institutions. He added, institutions will be mentored and guided towards the implementation of the NEP framework and collaboration will be established between KDEM (Karnataka Digital Economy Mission) and Infosys to achieve talent acceleration.
