Emphasizing quality education as the sole solution finder to the challenges being faced by the society, the Higher Education Minister Dr.C.N.Ashwatha Narayana called on philanthropists, organizations, companies, and alumna to contribute more towards strengthening education institutions.
Addressing as a guest of honor at the launch of Vidyashilp University he told that education institutions, whether it is private or government cannot be run without the involvement of the community.
“Educational institutions cannot be run just by the fee collected from students and it is just a portion of what they have to spend on providing infrastructure and facilities. As by law, educational institutions are meant not-for-profit, the question of commercialization does not arise, he explained.
Saying that the state of Karnataka has been a pioneer in the country in the field of education for decades, he told that we should aim towards making the state the most favoured destination for education in the entire world by making use of the available resources.
The Minister also praised the contribution of educationist and entrepreneur Dayananda Pai and his family for the cause of education.
