NEP enables to make education a community engagement- Dr.C.N.Ashwatha Narayana

NEP will make education a community engagement and it integrates educational institutions, industry, and research organizations into one platform, Dr.C.N.Ashwatha Narayana, the Minister for Higher Education, said on Friday.

Inaugurating the seminar on NEP-2020 organized by the Bengaluru Central University in association with the Mount Carmel College (Autonomous), he told, that NEP is student-centric.

The Minister emphasized, “Educational institutions, faculty, and Universities have to play a crucial role in the implementation of NEP-2020. Many policies will come and go, but what makes difference is effective implementation.”

Prof.Lingaraju Gandhi, Vice-Chancellor, Bengaluru Central University, in his welcome address said, education could only address the challenges before the society.

On the occasion, the first multidisciplinary woman college for women set up in Malleshwaram by Bengaluru Central University was inaugurated and the upgraded website of the university was also launched.

Athlete Felicitated

During the event, Ms. Priya H Mohan, a former student of the Mount Carmel College who represented the country at the International level Athletic meet and a member of the team that won the Bronze medal in the 4×400 Mts mixed relay was felicitated. P.Dayananda Pai, Educationist & Philanthropist, rewarded her with a cash of Rs 5 lakh and handed over the same in the form of a cheque.

Prof.B.Thimmegowda, Vice-President, State Higher Education Council, Educationist Dayananda Pai, Arpana, Principal, Mount Carmel College (Autonomous), K.N.Sridhar, Dr.B.Ramesh (Registrars), and others were present.
