The State has the best team of police officers and they have to create a peaceful environment , said Chief Minister Basavaja Bommai.
He was speaking at the senior police officers meeting held today and discussed various issues.
Highlights of the instructions given by the Chief Minister in the meeting:
- Various programmes were initiated in the police department regarding advancement and improving basic facilities.
- Many challenges needs to be faced in the future.
- Action has to be taken to prevent the possible Covid 3rd wave. Precautions have to be taken at the border districts. Senior officers will have to work more responsibly. Inspection at the check posts in borders will be mandatory.
- Crime rate to be brought under control. Crimes are like virus. It has to be curtailed very strongly. Only then will it be under control.
- Gambling, dark web and other illegal activities must be controlled without making any compromises, the CM gave strict instructions.
- He said that crimes cannot be tolerated.
- Maintaining Law and Order is our first priority.
- Crimes related to land disputes must be prevented.
- Our fight against narcotics and drugs will continue. Strict action to be taken in all districts regarding the matter
- Internal security division should be strengthened.
- Action to be taken to increase the income of prisoners
- Police force must be people friendly
Araga Jnanendra, Home Minister, who spoke on the occasion requested the CM to provide support for improvising and better functioning of police department. The department must give priority to investigate the crime cases speedily. He said that delay in these cases will not be tolerated.
